Jovago has announced its entry into the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, choosing Zimbabwe as its launch pad.

“Zimbabwe is listed among the fasted growing travel destinations in Africa, we want to be part of this incredible growth,” Said Estelle Verdier-Watine, the Managing Director Jovago.

Jovago has as part of its expansion towards Africa’s south entered into distinguished partnerships with leading hotel groups such as Regency Hotels and the historic Meikles in Harare.

According to Verdier-Watine, Zimbabwe’s economic improvement and the global attention which the country’s natural tourist destinations have enjoyed in recent times show that the future of Zimbabwe’s tourism industry can only get better.

For the hotel booking portal, the expansion of operations to SADC could not have come at a better time, as the world gears up to the upcoming World Responsible Tourism Day in quick succession to the global World Tourism Day later this month.

Jovago, which recently signed up its 1000th property in Kenya, just months after it launched in the East African country, has achieved an inventory of about 9,000 hotels in Africa, located in over 10 countries across the continent, including Tanzania/Zanzibar, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Namibia, Djibouti, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Burundi, South Sudan, Ghana and Nigeria.
