‘Say your love no dey lie, say your feelings no dey die’
Anyone who remembers the lyrics from the 2011 song, Say your love by Nigerian twin duo, P-square, will definitely get the chills when presented with the reality that the group is no more. The fact that Paul and Peter Okoye are no longer together, musically, may be attributed to a family or business misunderstanding, or even both. All has not been well in Camelot especially considering the fact that for several weeks, the P-square camp has been brimming with a lot of anger.
Over the years, many fans have appreciated the singing and dancing duo, but the group is now set to change forever. Paul and Peter have both released new solo songs, leading people to ask if this marks the beginning of a solo career for both of them. For several weeks, the more outspoken brother, Peter, has been in one too many twitter wars with his elder brother and the former manager of the group, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, over obvious family drama.

Fans all over the continent have weighed in on the exchanges made between the brothers, stating that they made room for it in the beginning, questioning the plan to mix business with family matters, while others have been left to label it a publicity stunt.

Although Paul is yet to reveal new management details, Peter has clearly moved on.
Although Peter Okoye has introduced his new music persona, Mr. P, he has no track as an artiste yet and some fans have made comedic reference to that.

This break up, though a bit one sided, is no different from similar break ups which have occurred in the past for a myriad of reasons. Plantashun boiz featuring Tuface, Black face and Faze parted ways in 2004 to start solo careers, although Tuface is the most successful of the trio so far. Also, the Remedies featuring Eedris Abdulkareem, Eddy Montana and Tony Tetuila parted ways in 1999 and went on to have successful solo careers for a period of time. The hit making duo of Dbanj and Don Jazzy parted ways in 2012 after a successful venture together, fortunately, both are still doing very well in the music industry. Also, KC Presh consisting of KC and Presh parted ways in 2011 and only Kcee has remained relevant in the Nigerian music industry.
It is the hope of many P-square fans that the duo come back together or still dish out great songs, even as separate acts.
