Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube have stated that they are coming together to help drive down the spread of terrorist content online. These platforms have formulated a means of discouraging any content that promotes terrorism.

This will be done through the creation of a shared industry database of “hashes”, that is, unique digital fingerprints for violent terrorist imagery or terrorist recruitment videos or images. By sharing this information with each other, they will be able to identify potential terrorist content on their respective platforms.
