The former chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin has called some members of the House “thieves” and “shameless”.

This follows the motion in the House that is calling for Jibrin’s suspension. However, he said via his Twitter handle that he will not appear before the Ethics Committee unless the proceedings are made public because Nigerians are being taken for granted.

“I am ready to appear before the committee even today if the proceeding will be public,” said Jibrin.

He also stated that the allegations are against Dogara, Lasun, Doguwa, Ogor and few others, and not the entire representatives. He further stated that he will continue to cooperate with the anti-graft agencies who are already investigating the matter so it will not be swept under the carpet.
