Television networks and online distribution platforms are set to enjoy a new way to connect with content creators and production studios with the launch of the Creative Content Conference – C3 – set to take place on August 4, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.

A recent research by the African Creative Content Association (ACCA) reveals that at least 65 percent of content developers produce quality material, but are unable to connect with the right platforms to distribute and monetize their content. This is the gap that C3 hopes to bridge with its upcoming event.

With over 20 TV and online platforms, as well as over 30 content developers, C3 promises to be a memorable event. The activities of the event will create an outcome that would serve as a drive to the creative industry and also bring about a commercially viable impact. C3 will also maximise the support of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, Nigerian Film Cooperation, and the ACCA to become a driving force in the creative industry, giving birth to a more proactive economy in the content market space to rival the likes of MIPCOM, DISCOP, and other world content markets.

The choice to make Lagos the host for this new approach to the world of African content is a clear one based on its reputation. Lagos continues to witness a boom in the various entertainment industries which include music, film, and the emerging world of comics. In addition to this, is the fact that the megacity is the continent’s economic melting point.

The C3 event at the Oriental Hotel will be graced by panellists such as Niyi Akinmolayan, the Director of the forthcoming Wedding Party 2 and Founder of Anthill Studios (A Lagos based Animation Studio), Matthew Okoduwa (Zonal Director NBC), Tecla (Content Executive NTA), Stephanie of AFP Global, Momah of Channels TV, and more.

Following the calibre of participants expected at the C3 event, and in addition to its focus, it appears that the event could be the much needed revolution for content distribution in Nigeria. And there’s only one way to find out.

The C3 event is organised by VexpoAfrica. Vexpo is a Pan-African event platform focused on Afro-geek culture, creative content, and entertainment technology. Sign up at www.vexpoafrica.com/register-c3/ to be a part of C3!
