To bring the Federal Government’s financial inclusion policy to reality, Fidelity Bank Plc and Nigeran Postal Services (NIPOST) have partnered to bring modern banking services directly to 266 rural areas across the country. In support of this, NIPOST has offered to give out 1,800 of its post office facilities across the country to Fidelity Bank PLC, in order for the Bank to expand its business network nationwide, especially at the grassroots.

Mr Bisi Adegbuyi, Postmaster-General, NIPOST at the Launch of the Integrated Agency Banking and Treasury Single Account (TSA) Collections in Collaboration said that the growth of e-commerce has forced many postal administrations to explore ways of expanding their frontiers through collaboration with relevant stakeholders to meet the emerging challenges.

This project has the potential to increase the revenue base of both organisations and enhance the savings culture of the rural dwellers as well as help in mopping excess cash from rural communities, help to drive government’s financial inclusion policy, and facilitates funds transfer between citizens for mutual benefits,” Adegbuyi added.
