The picturesque town of Plettenberg Bay (known locally as the “Plett”) is located between Mossel Bay and Tsitsikamma mountains, 300 km of coast in the Garden Route. The first Portuguese explorers had once called this place “Bahia Formosa” (beautiful bay). The city is located 210 km from Port Elizabeth and is about 600 km from Cape Town.

The Plettenberg Bay Country Club has an 18 holes golf course located in a private park. The course is highly rated and is a very popular tourist destination. The course is easy to walk, and the 2 main rivers can be seen from the veranda. Visitors are welcome. Kikuyu fairways consist of high quality and greens Bayview seeded recently provide golfers an excellent surface game on this course. Despite the beautiful white and beautiful beaches nearby, the club is very popular and booking in advance is essential.

The Goose Valley Golf Club is located in a pristine environment, just 4 km from Plettenberg Bay, along the Keurbooms lagoon, accessible to the Club via the N2. This beautiful property offers an amazing golf course designed by Gary Player, 18 holes, par 72 in the heart of the Garden Route.

There are also other golf competitions in fast around Pezula, Simola and Knysna Golf Club in Knysna and George Fancourt Golf Club in George.

The coastline around Plett welcomes whales from June to November. Check with a local person or pick up a card at the tourist office and find the best place for whale watching.

The choice of activities is unlimited between diving, snorkeling and masks, sea kayaking, cruises dusk, fishing trips by boat, ferry, rent a boat or canoe, sailing aboard a catamaran, surfing and kite surfing. A wide choice to meet all your needs: deep sea fishing, walk, fly, and from the rocks. For thrill seekers, bungee jumping fans would be delighted to jump at Bloukrans Bridge.
