Dangote Sugar, a subsidiary of multi-business enterprise Dangote Group PLC, has announced the appointment of Graham Clark as the new Group Managing Director of its Refinery.

The Chairman of the Group, Aliko Dangote said the decision was made based on Clark’s experience and expertise to meet the aspirations of the Sugar Refinery, with his proven record of operational leadership.

“At the cusp of industrial revolution in Nigeria, and with our new acquisition and planned development of other sugar fields across the country-estimated at over 300, 000 hectares-critical enablers (Clark) will put us on a competitive trajectory growth plan”, he said.

Clark who served as Managing Director of Illovo Sugar Ltd., Africa’s biggest sugar producers since 2009, resigned earlier this month amidst speculations as to the reason for his resignation.

He now takes over from Sule Abdullahi who will assume the position of Deputy Managing Director of the company.
