The Nigerian movie industry may be witnessing a new dawn as Clarence Abiodun Peters is set to release his debut horror movie titled ‘Hex’. ‘Hex’ is a short, twenty six minute, fictional movie that tells a story of five young people, who accidentally hit an unknown man on their way home, after which they suffer severe emotional and haunting experiences. Some suggest the film is more akin to a Hollywood horror film, than a Nollywood film.

The short film will contend with quite a number of scary movies in the industry, such as Itoro, Torn, Trip To Hell and The Awakening. However this film may be offering a different touch from what is usually obtainable in the sector. You might probably want to think of Hex as another Evil Dead or House of Wax. Well, the trailer suggests that it is one of its kind in Nigeria.

Clarence Peters, son of renown Afro-Juju legend in Nigeria, Sir Shina Peters and popular actress, Clarion Chukwura, is otherwise known as CAPital, and a filmmaker, cinematographer and music video director. He is the Chief Executive Officer of CAPital Dreams Pictures and co-founded Capital Hill Music. He is known for his state-of-the-art music videos, documentaries, TV commercials and now, ‘Hex’.

Peters combined his ingenuity with Rotimi Oshodi and Victor Aghahowa to write the film. Sesan Adeniji, the publisher of Mystreetz magazine thinks the Hex project could be initiating a new phase in movie production in Nigeria’s film industry. “With ‘Hex’ in tow, Clarence seems set to overrun the entire Nollywood and make every single film maker who has earned our respect over the years look like a joke,” Sesan said.
