Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party was arraigned on Friday, January 22nd for destruction of evidence and a bail of N300 million was set for him by the Federal High Court. Metuh, who was originally on trial in connection with the controversial $2.1 billion arms deal fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made newspaper headlines when he, reportedly,tore up his statement and stuffed it in his mouth.

Although Metuh has denied chewing his statement, Chicken Republic, a Nigerian Fast food chain wasted no time in sharing a satirical advert.

The advert has been received with mixed reviews. While some thought that the ad was creative and funny, some think it was rude to the PDP chieftain andcompletely out of line.

Although the advert has been removed from its social media page, it was quite refreshing to see a brand lend its voice to happenings on the country’s political landscape.
