(VenturesAfrica) – Goran Stevanovic, who coaches Black Stars of Ghana, will have to wait for another week before finding out his fate with the country’s national team. This is because the Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) has decided to wait until next week before announcing their final decision.

The Executive committee of the GFA met on Thursday to decide the fate of the Serbian whose reign as coach of the Black Stars has come under intense criticisms from many fans. However, the board failed to reach a conclusion during the meeting.
Stevanonic’s position came under duress after Ghana failed to win the 2012 African Cup of Nations tournament, loosing 1 : 0 in the semi-finals  to eventual winners, the Chipolopolo of Zambia.

But things may have really gone from bad to worse for the 45 year old coach after he accused some of his players of using witchcraft on each other after the loss to Zambia.

Stevanovic was quoted by the BBC last month as saying, “we all need to help in changing some players’ mentality about using black powder to destroy themselves….” For many, that may have been the final nail in the coffin of his career with the Black Stars.

According to well-respected Ghanaian journalist, Michael Otei Adjei, sacking Stevanovic is just a matter of time. Writing on his twitter page, the BBC correspondent said, “You don’t have to be a magician to figure out Goran Stevanovic is on his way out as Ghana coach. Keeping a coach with a contract requires no meetings.” Otei Adjei goes on to add that “money will be the decisive factor on whether Stevanovic stays,” insisting that the overwhelming view of the GFA ex-co is he must go.
