Austria-based glass manufacturer, Lisec Group has disclosed plans to enter the Nigerian glass market as it continues its growth strategy in Africa.

Lisec already has strong presence in Egypt, Kenya and South Africa, but insists that Nigeria – Africa’s largest economy – is a key market for its range of products, machineries and technology as it seeks to offer consumers quality glass they desire.

A representative of the company in Africa, Afam Ike while speaking to Builders and Architects at an introductory seminar in Lagos, Nigeria, noted that the glass market in Nigeria has great potentials yet untapped, stressing that Lisec was set to develop manpower and enterprise culture as a way of building capacity in the local market.

He added that the local market would benefit from Lisec’s expertise, technology and innovation.

Managing Director, Lisec Austria, Peter Holzinger said the Company is constantly developing new technologies in order to meet the challenge of its new evolving industry, stressing that the Company understands the need of Africa.

With over 50 years’ experience in the glass making industry, Lisec is expected to greatly impact the Nigerian glass industry, causing a ripple effect on job creation.

The company, which runs its own research and development centre is also expected to improve local content.
