Regarding the tenacity of irregularities and loss of revenues in the allocation of hunting blocks by government officials, Tanzania government is coming up with a new auctioning system in June to tackle corruption and enhance transparency in its tourism sector.

Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority will begin the new initiative next month and it will last for a week. For the first time also the authority will be auctioning 26 big games hunting blocks.

“TAWA invites applications for the allocation of tourist hunting blocks through electronic auctioning (e-auctioning),” the Wildlife Management Authority said in a statement.
