Every 25th of March, the world commemorates the International Day of the Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Interestingly, one of the most involved continents – Africa – appears to have distanced itself from that part of its history. Ventures Africa explores the two main reasons why this is the case, as well as why the era of slavery should be reminiscent of much more than a ‘dark age’ in our history.
