President Muhammadu Buhari has advised players in the Nigerian banking sector to commit to making reasonable use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in order to help the government fight against money laundering in the country.

The President also asked bankers to creatively develop strategies that will provide lasting solutions to this global problem without relying on the compliance of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Financial manual.

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Mahmoud Isa- Dutse, said the country would receive a significant boost if the banking sector actively supports the government in the fight against corruption.
